MKM started to carry out quantitative
and qualitative data collection about livelihood assessment in 10 IDP camps in
Kachin State in November 2016 and have finished on the 18th of
December. We collected qualitative data by undertaking FGDs, KII and
Non-participant observations. FGDs were conducted with vulnerable groups and male-female
groups. KIIs were carried out with host communities and camp leaders.
Non-participant observations were conducted in markets and shops nearby IDP
camps for obtaining information about livelihood activities. In terms of
quantitative data collection, survey team visited households in IDP camps for
interviewing. MKM did initial data analysis (both quantitative and qualitative)
and wrote a report on initial finding on the livelihood situation and
potentials in study areas.
