During the evaluation study starting in May 2017, MKM
was responsible for data collection team training, collecting quantitative and
qualitative data, quantitative data management (quality control checks, data
entry and data cleansing), quantitative data analysis, transcribing the field
notes wrapping qualitative data and translating transcripts written in Burmese
into English. During the data collection, MKM’s data collection teams visited
11 townships where partners of MEC education projects were working. In each
township, we needed to visit three schools which received support from MEC and
collect data from 78 household, one FGD session with different participants of
school teachers, parents and members of parent teacher associations and 2 KIIs.
These eleven townships were from four different States and Regions (Kayin,
Kachin, Shan and Sagaing). All were remote and conflict areas. Therefore, MKM
had to interview 944 households, 66 KIIs and 33 FGDs. Data management team
undertook quality control checks the completed physical questionnaires, data
entry and data cleansing at MKM’s head office. Quantitative data analyses were
accomplished by MKM. Field notes of qualitative data were transcribed and
translated into English. The whole assignment has been finished in June 2017.
