A mix study of quantitative
and qualitative was conducted for KMSS in Kachin and Northern Shan States in Jan-May
2019. In this study, MKM had to survey in 12 IDP (Internally Displaced People
due to conflicts) camps in government control areas (GCA) as well as non
government control areas (NGCA) in Kachin and Northern Shan States. A total of
900 IPD households were interviewed with a prepared questionnaire. And, a KII
was also conducted in each IDP camp with camp leaders. MKM created and used 4
tools in this study; HH questionnaire, questionnaire for caregivers/mothers of
under five children, questionnaire for pregnant and lactating women and KII
guide for camp leaders. The study covered many topics relating to nutrition,
water and sanitation, immunization coverage, home gardening practices, receipt
of food/cash assistance, breastfeeding practices, complementary food feeding
practice and household food security.
Target respondents were mothers/caregivers of under five children,
pregnant women, household heads and camp leaders.
